BABY STRANGE KICK OFF THEIR AUTUMN TOUR TONIGHT SO WE CAUGHT UP WITH THEM AHEAD OF THEIR TRIP TO NEWCASTLE.
BABY Strange are heading to the Cluny 2 as part of their new tour. The tour follows the trio’s newest release, an adrenaline fueled extended play. We caught up with the band to discuss the tour, the EP and more.
IT’S NEARLY BEEN A YEAR SINCE YOUR DEBUT ALBUM CAME OUT, HOW HAS THE RECEPTION BEEN OVER THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS?
It’s been crazy. All we’ve ever wanted to do since we started this band was to release an album that we love. It’s a great feeling knowing it’s out in the open.
YOU’VE JUST RELEASED A NEW EP, WILL THE CLUNY SHOW BE FOCUSED AROUND THIS?
Yeah. We’ll play the EP in full as well as the majority of the album. It’ll be the longest set we’ve played yet.
CAN WE EXPECT MORE NEW MATERIAL? EITHER RECORDED OR LIVE THIS YEAR?
We may have a little something for people to hear at the end of the year but we can’t say to much about it yet.
YOU’VE PLAYED THE CLUNY BEFORE, WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE VENUE?
It sounds amazing. We first played in there with Slaves a few years ago and we loved it. We can’t wait to return.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT PLAYING NEWCASTLE?
Newcastle has a special place in our hearts. The past 3 shows we’ve did there have sold out and the last one at Jumping Jacks is one we’ll always remember. The floor almost caved in due to how much people were jumping, the gig got stopped 3 times. The security tried to pull the plug on us too. No chance. We’re looking forward to seeing FEVA & No Teeth supporting too.
ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SAY TO FANS COMING TO THIS CLUNY SHOW?
I’m thankful this gig is on the ground floor.
