PLAZA – WERNOTPLAZA (Review)

PLAZA HAVE UNLEASHED THEIR DEBUT EP. SEE WHAT WE THOUGHT OF IT.

PLAZA have released their debut EP and its a well produced, epic, 13 minutes of bliss.

Featuring the almighty “Deep In My Head”, this EP has been a long time coming and PLAZA have released it at exactly the right time. Currently in-between touring, this EP will be the perfect hype for an fan going to see this quartet perform.

A reworking of the impressive “Vancouver” also appears on the EP, it’s just as powerful as the first time you heard it, the big shoegaze style guitars intertwine with a math rock riff and big floor filling drums.

You are then transported into one of PLAZA’s most notorious live songs; “Origami”. A track that received a lot of attention from a wide range of publications.

The EP ends with a fantastic remix of PLAZA’s original single “Totem”. It’s completely different to the original version, yet Joe Garratt (Lead vocalist in shoegaze band Figmennt) manages to still capture the sound that PLAZA have worked hard to develop.

It’s a great first EP and you can expect to hear these tracks belted out at PLAZA’s live dates.
