PLAZA – ORIGAMI (Review)

MATH ROCKERS PLAZA, UNLEASH NEWEST SINGLE “ORIGAMI”. SEE WHAT WE THOUGHT HERE.

IF you happened to own Plaza’s 2015 self titled EP then you’d be well familiar with a little track that sat at number 3 simply titled “Origami”

Well it turns out Plaza have been working their socks off in Leeds to produce a revamped and newly energised version of that exact song.

“Origami” is vocally powerful, lead singer Brad Lennard belts out “Take me away from it all” in a distorted and raspy tone.

The guitars are as math rock as ever and their tight picking sound continues the familiar sound that Plaza are creating with each of their tracks.

Matthew Swinbourne’s drums control this song, from the heavy hits of the intro to the softer pulse that creates the verses of the song. The drums drive the song forward and allow the rest of the band to layer their sounds over the top.

“Origami” continues Plaza’s string of solid releases and kicks off their 2017 perfectly. Know doubt big things to come for these boys this year.
