ONCE again Record Store Day is just around the corner, every vinyl collector and music fans “favourite worst nightmare.”
Hordes of people across the UK will flock to their local record store in the hope of snatching up one of the limited edition vinyls released especially for the event.
RSD 2015 saw releases from Peace, Happy Mondays and the late David Bowie. Plugged In has rounded up a selection of some of the releases this year that you cannot miss.
David Bowie – The Man Who Sold The World: Taken from the album of the same name, The Man Who Sold The World will be released on a limited edition 12″ picture disk. Essential to add to anyones Bowie collection.
Blossoms – You Pulled a Gun on Me: Featuring a live recording from the bands sold out Ritz show, Blossoms are releasing an original version of the track “You Pulled a Gun on Me” on a lovely 7″ single.
Slaves – Are You Satisfied: After the massive success of their debut album, Slaves released a digital deluxe version with nine extra songs on. Now, for RSD, the duo have released these nine tracks on a limited edition pink vinyl.
T-Rex – Born to Boogie: Available on yellow and green vinyl, the classic track will be available to buy. Only limited copies available, so get it quick.
Mac Demarco – Another One Demos: The mini album released in 2015, saw Mac Demarco return to his relaxed way of life. Now for RSD he’s releasing his demos on a black vinyl.
Ian Brown – Solarized: The successful album by the Stone Roses front-man Ian Brown is to be released on vinyl for the first ever time. With the hugely popular “Keep What Ya Got” featuring indie legend Noel Gallagher and the single “Time Is My Everything” the album will be remembered as a classic. Get it on vinyl this RSD.
Fleetwood Mac – Alternate Tusk: The African influenced Tusk featured on the album of the same name. The track is classed as one of Mick Fleetwood’s greatest performances, now the band are releasing a alternate version of this song.
Foals – Rain / Daffodils: The indie kings are releasing “Rain” an unreleased track from their 2015 album “What Went Down.” Featuring on a limited edition 7″, alongside a cover of Mark Ronson’s “Daffodil” this is one for every Foals fan.
These are only a small selection out of the massive range that will actually be available on the day.
